Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Crofton man after he fled from authorities Thursday afternoon.
According to a CCSO arrest citation, Deputy John Quarles attempted to stop a vehicle for an obstructed windshield in the area of North Main Street and the Bypass in Hopkinsville at around 1:00 pm. The driver, 40-year-old James Ferrell of Crofton, refused to stop for officers and led them on a chase that ended on Dawson Springs Road in the area of Terry Lane. During the pursuit, Ferrell could be seen throwing items from the vehicle, which were later collected by Deputies and identified as illegal narcotics (meth and marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. Once the vehicle was stopped, Deputies determined that the vehicle operated by Ferrell was stolen out of Hopkinsville and Ferrell was driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Ferrell was arrested and charged with the following:
- Obstructed Windshield
- Fleeing/ Evading Police 1st Degree
- Reckless Driving
- Operating on a Suspended License
- Receiving Stolen Property $10,000.00 or More
- Possession of Marijuana
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree (meth)
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
