Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Weapon/ Drug Charges

Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle Tuesday morning (09/22) that led to the arrest of a Missouri man for weapon and illegal drug charges.

According to an arrest report from Deputy Clevin Robinson, 30-year old Bryant Darnell Wynn of St. Louis, MO was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Deputy Robinson for multiple traffic infractions on Interstate 24 at the 73-mile marker eastbound.

Upon initial contact, Deputy Robinson smelled and observed signs of marijuana and obtained consent to search of the vehicle. The search yielded a backpack that contained a loaded firearm, suspected crack cocaine, suspected marijuana, a large number of suspected ecstasy pills (MDMA), and an undisclosed amount of US currency. Wynn claimed ownership of the bag and it’s contents and was arrested and charged with the following:

 

  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree (Enhanced)
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Cocaine (Enhanced)
  • Possession of Marijuana (Enhanced)

The traffic stop is part of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office ongoing narcotics interdiction efforts on major highways in Christian County.

Wynn was transported to the Christian County Jail.
