CCSO K9 Sniffs Out Narcotics on Weekend Traffic Stop

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Crofton man Saturday after Deputies found suspected methamphetamine in his vehicle.

According to an arrest report from K9 Deputy Sam Suiter, a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Darren T. Ezell of Crofton, KY was stopped on North Madisonville Street in Crofton Saturday morning for no visible registration plates. It was determined that Ezell was driving on an expired driver’s license, had no insurance, and no proper registration. During the traffic stop, Deputy Suiter deployed his K9 partner “Zico”, who indicated on the passenger side of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a hypodermic needle, a sock containing glass pipes, and a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine.

Ezell was arrested and charged with the following:

  • No Registration Receipt
  • No Registration Plates
  • License to be in Possession
  • No Operators License
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • No Insurance
  • Failure to Register Transfer of a Motor Vehicle

Ezell was transported to the Christian County Jail
