January 18th, 2020: Deputies stopped a vehicle on Saturday afternoon (01/18) for speeding and located illegal narcotics in a hidden compartment.
According to an arrest report from Sgt. Jeff Goulet and Deputy Clevin Robinson, 26-year old John L. Gardner, Jr. of Nashville, TN was stopped in the area of the 5mm on Pennyrile Parkway for speeding. Deputies noticed a strong odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle and after searching, located an undisclosed amount of suspected marijuana in the console of the vehicle and another two bags in a hidden compartment. Deputies also recovered clear baggies, a scale and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Gardner was arrested and charged with:
- Speeding/ 21 mph Over the Limit
- Failure to Wear Seat Belts
- No insurance
- Operating on a Suspended License
- Trafficking in Marijuana 1st Offense
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
Gardner was transported to the Christian County Jail.
