The Christian County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls in the last two days, reporting that scammers are calling citizens of Christian County and posing as Deputies. This scam has been going around for the last several years, and it seems to occur every couple of months. The caller states that they are from a law enfrcement agency, in this case, our agency. They may tell you that you have a warrant, a ticket, or have missed some type of court date, such as jury duty and that you need to pay over the phone to take care of it. We want everyone to be aware that we DO NOT operate that way. A sheriff’s deputy will never call you on the phone and demand money for any infraction. We are not allowed to do that. Those issues have to be handled either by serving the warrant, or paying fines through the clerk’s office. Please just hang up when you receive these calls. For more information, click HERE.]]>
